The winning team of the school contest from Ms. Sharp's class will compete against teams from 40 other elementary schools. This is the first year for Graham Hill to be participating. The students have worked hard to get ready and we are proud of them. A huge thank you to our librarian, Ms. Hagen for bringing this opportunity to us. Please ask in the school office how you can help, or see Mark Leonard. When: Tuesday, March 25, 2008 Discover Dance: A Portrait of Community at McCaw Hall - March 22, 2008 PNB Outreach is pleased to announce the 2008 Discover Dance Community Performance — DISCOVER DANCE: A Portrait of Community. On March 22, 2008 at 2:00 pm, more than 400 elementary and junior high school students will perform on stage at McCaw Hall. The performance will include original works created by the students and their PNB Teaching Artists. Each dance focuses on a portrait of a particular person, region, or timeframe. Also featured in the performance are REACH Student Dance Group, the Graham Hill Elementary School Chorus, and PNB Company dancers. For the past few months, Ms. Kingsbury's and Mrs. Ewing's classes have been working with a Pacific Northwest Ballet Teaching Artist creating choreography and learning dance concepts, vocabulary, and technique. Ms. Adams has been working with the chorus, who will be performing the music for our dances, along with an additional piece on their own. Ms. Jordan's and Ms. Shelly's classes have been working on the artwork backdrops, which will be hung up during the performance. The culminating event for this in-school residency is the DISCOVER DANCE performance at McCaw Hall. We are lucky to be one of five schools participating in this partnership and performance with PNB. Please come and support our students on performance day! Update: Graham Hill was represented admirably at this event both by the incredible performances turned in by our students as well as by the large and enthusiastic representation of attendees.
